If you are following an older tip that sends you to the top of the stairs, there is an important location change to know about.
The confirmed location change
In the October 16 developer update, one broom was relocated from the top of the stairs to the Apothecary. Start by checking that room if the upstairs spot shown in an older guide is empty.
The update does not provide a precise shelf, coordinate, or annotated image. The screenshot above is a room reference, not a marker for the broom’s exact position.
Check your installed version
Let Steam finish any pending game updates before comparing your game with recent advice. If your installation predates the location change, the same broom may still be in its former position.
If you are still missing items
The October 14 patch addressed a bug where the summoning bell could fail to find stuck objects. On an updated installation, try the bell again. This fix does not establish that every missing broom can be recovered with it.
For an unresolved case, record the room, remaining item count, and what the bell does. Include those details in a Steam discussion so that another player or the developer can distinguish a missed object from a bug.
